A mug featuring a detail from one of the most well loved items in our collection - a crewel work embroidery curtain designed and stitched by our collection’s founder Rachel Kay-Shuttleworth as part of a set of bed hangings. Although she worked on them in the early 20th century, Rachel designed them to closely follow the style of crewel work fashionable in the 17th century with a stylised Tree of Life, grassy hillocks and a stag and horseback rider.
